Session // Dec 26th -29th
Class Time: Thursday -Sunday, 9am -11pm
Description
Complimentary underpainting techniques involve applying a base layer of paint using complimentary colors(colors opposite of each other on the color wheel, such as green and red or blue and orange) before applying the final layers on the actual painting colors. The goal is to create a rich, dynamic foundation that can influence the colors applied on top , helping to add depth, vibrancy and harmony to the final piece.
The workshop will cover a classic and highly effective technique that enhances the understanding of color theory, while simplifying the painting process. Participants will leave with valuable tools to refine their skills and improve their approach to using color in their artwork.
Each day will build upon techniques learned in the previous class. Students will have the opportunity to create at least 2 finished projects.
Who it’s for
This workshop is ideal for students with some prior painting experience and is recommended for ages 11 and up. However, younger students with an interest in acrylic painting may also find it beneficial.
Price: $260, materials included

Description
The artist’s most difficult task is to convey the moment in motion, so when it comes to human figures, we need to understand basic human anatomy and structure. If you have taken figure drawing classes before, this workshop will not be a repeat, it is designed to strengthen students’ ability to draw people at your level. You will learn:
Anatomy and structure of relative bone and muscles positions
Hands and feet in relation to different parts of the body
How to capture the body movement
Students get to practice their understanding of the human figure in various gestures, perspectives, lighting, and attire
Drawing from live models in various static positions as well as during movement
Students will not just copy from photos but will be able to use them as references, creating their own composition. Drawings will be more “alive”, dynamic, and three dimensional.

This workshop is designed for high school students at all levels who are interested in concept art, animation, fashion design, majoring in an art related field and need a strong portfolio, or simply would like to learn drawing and painting people.
